I’m Thrilled to Join The Bright Agency

I’m beyond excited to announce that I’ve officially joined The Bright Agency as a represented illustrator in their UK-based children’s illustration division! It’s truly an honor to be part of a roster that includes some of the most imaginative and narrative-driven illustrators today.

For those who don’t know me: I’m Timothy Banks, an illustrator and visual storyteller based in Charleston, South Carolina. I’ve spent over two decades working across editorial, picture books, gallery art, and character-driven projects that blend whimsy with atmospheric detail. You may know my work from books like Nian, The Chinese New Year Dragon, and Monsters in Charleston, or editorial clients such as Faber & Faber, Sleeping Bear Press, and Paste Magazine.

My goal has always been to create work that brings heart and humor into storytelling, and Bright shares that same vision. I can’t wait to collaborate with their team in London, connecting with publishers and editors seeking illustrations that spark empathy, wonder, and imaginative storytelling. This feels like a natural next chapter and one full of opportunity.
